Why Families Choose Us

The NDIS shouldn't feel like a mountain to climb.

Too many families tell us the same story: hours spent on hold, conflicting advice, and reports that didn't reflect their loved one's true needs. We built Therapursuit to be different.

  • Confused by the NDIS process?

Our OTs explain every step in plain language — no jargon, no acronym soup. We guide you from initial enquiry through to funding approval.

  • Worried about report quality?

Every assessment is conducted by a university-qualified, AHPRA-registered OT and peer-reviewed before submission — so the evidence is solid and the writing is clear.

  • Exhausted from impersonal services?

You get a dedicated OT who takes time to understand your individual context — goals, living situation, family dynamics — not just a checklist.

  • Support Coordinators & Plan Managers welcome

We work closely with your wider support team, respond promptly to referrals, and can accommodate tight plan review timelines.

Who We Work With

Every person in the NDIS ecosystem

Whether you're a participant, a family carer, or a professional supporting someone's NDIS journey — we're here to help.

NDIS Participants

Whether you're approaching your first plan or preparing for a review, we assess your functional capacity and identify the supports that will genuinely improve your independence and wellbeing.

Families & Carers

Navigating supports for a loved one brings its own pressures. We communicate clearly, involve families in assessment findings, and make sure recommendations reflect the whole person — not just a score on a page.

Support Coordinators

We make your job easier. Our referral process is streamlined, we communicate progress proactively, and our reports are written to directly address NDIA decision-making criteria — reducing back-and-forth.

Nominees & Guardians

Acting on behalf of a participant involves real responsibility. We take time to understand decision-making arrangements, ensure consent is appropriately managed, and keep you fully informed throughout the process.

Allied Health Professionals

Psychologists, physiotherapists, speech pathologists and other clinicians refer clients to us for standalone OT assessments. We work collaboratively, share relevant findings, and close the loop professionally.

Plan Managers

We provide itemised service agreements, clear documentation of NDIS line items and honest timeframes — so you have everything you need for accurate plan management without chasing paperwork.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does a Functional Capacity Assessment take?

The assessment itself typically takes 60–120 minutes depending on the participant's needs and complexity. The written report is generally delivered within 5 business days of the assessment appointment, though this may vary for complex presentations. We'll give you a realistic timeframe upfront.

Does my NDIS plan need to be active before I enquire?

No — you can contact us before your plan is in place. We frequently assist participants who are preparing for their first NDIS planning meeting and need an OT assessment to strengthen their application. We'll advise on the right timing for your situation.

Can Therapursuit see participants in their own home?

Yes. In-home assessments are our standard model across the Gold Coast, Logan, Brisbane South & Bayside, and Brisbane North regions. Home-based assessment allows our OTs to observe functional performance in the environment where it matters most, leading to more relevant and accurate reports.

What funding types does Therapursuit accept?

We accept NDIA-managed, plan-managed, and self-managed NDIS funding. If you're plan-managed, we invoice your plan manager directly. Self-managed participants receive itemised invoices and receipts. We'll confirm your funding arrangements during the initial call before booking.

What is a Functional Capacity Assessment used for?

An FCA is a clinical document used by NDIA to understand how a participant's disability affects their daily life. It provides evidence to support funding decisions, plan reviews, and requests for specific supports. It is not a diagnostic tool and does not guarantee any particular NDIA outcome — but a well-written, evidence-based report significantly strengthens your case.

Can I use Therapursuit for telehealth if I'm outside Gold Coast or Brisbane?

Yes. Telehealth OT services are available nationally to NDIS participants across Australia. While some assessments (particularly home modifications and hands-on AT trials) require an in-person visit, many consultations, capacity-building sessions, and parts of an FCA can be conducted via video call.

How does Assistive Technology assessment work?

Our OT meets with you to understand your functional goals and daily challenges, then identifies and trials suitable assistive technology options. For mid and high-complexity AT, we prepare a formal AT assessment report including clinical justification, specifications, and at least one quote. We also liaise with AT suppliers on your behalf where needed.

I'm a Support Coordinator referring a client — how does your referral process work?

You can refer by phone (1300 489 048) or email ([email protected]). We'll confirm service availability, ask for basic participant information, and advise on expected turnaround. We send updates at key milestones so you're always in the loop — no need to chase us for progress reports.

Your care, our expertise — let's move forward together.

Whether you're a participant, family, or support professional — Therapursuit is here to make the OT process simple, respectful, and genuinely useful. Take the first step today.
